Due to the rising cases of coronavirus in India, Railways has decided to cancel all trains till August 12th.

However, 200+ special trains will continue to run for the migrants. 

Full refund of all tickets booked till August 12th will be provided, Railways has said.

All Trains Cancelled Till August 12: Indian Railways

All trains in Inda: Mail, Express, Rajdhani, Shatabdi and sub-urban local trains will be suspended till August 12th.

In a statement, Railways Board said, “It has been decided that regular time-tabled passenger services including Mail/Express, passenger and suburban services stand cancelled up to 12.08.2020,” 

However, special trains which have been started for ferrying the migrants will continue to run. Special Rajdhani trains and Special Mail/Express were started from May 12th and June 1st respectively, and they will continue to run.

These special trains are running for ferrying migrants, and 230 such special trains are running as of now. While 30 Rajdhani type trains were started initially, the number was increased to 200 from June 1st.

In Mumbai though, local trains will run for ferrying emergency workers and healthcare employees. 

Full Refund For All Tickets Booked

Since no normal trains will run till August 12th, Indian Railways will refund all booked tickets till August 12th.

All tickets booked for travel date between July 1st and August 12th will be fully refunded, without any cancellation fees.

The Railways Board said, “It has also been decided that all the tickets booked for the regular time-tabled trains for the journey date from 01.07.20 to 12.08.20 also stand cancelled and full refund will be generated,”

Earlier, Indian Railways announced that all tickets booked after April 14th will be fully refunded, without any cancellation charges.
