The tensions at the LAC borders have stirred an outrage throughout India, with the telecom ministry directing BSNL, MTNL, etc to stop using Chinese equipment altogether.

And now, many of the Indian intelligence agencies have released a list of apps that should not be on our phones. All these apps have originated from China and we have been asked to remove these apps from our phones. 

Which are these apps that should be removed from our phones? What alternative apps can we use instead of these? Let’s find out!

Indian Intelligence Agencies Ask To Uninstall 53  China Based Mobile Apps; What Are The Alternatives?

The Indian intelligence agencies have released a list of 52 Chinese apps that should be removed from our phones immediately. Apparently there are concerns that these apps are not safe and are capable of leaking a lot of data of Indians.

Here are the apps that should be deleted, and the alternative that you can use: 

The video making and sharing app, TikTok, which has kicked up quite the controversy in India, is the first one on the list. This app can be replaced by Roposo and/or ShareChat. Now, among these two, ShareChat is definitively bigger.

Started in 2015, ShareChat is now India’s largest regional social media platform with 60 million active users and 100 million registered users.

The platform is available in 15 Indian languages – Hindi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, Odia, Kannada, Assamese, Haryanvi, Rajasthani, Bhojpuri and Urdu.

SHAREit is also on the list, which is very commonly used for sharing media or any kind of files from one phone to the other. This can be replaced by Google Files which does not use Internet to share any of the files. There is also another app called the ES Explorer which is used by many of us as a file manager which can also be replaced by Google Files. Google Files can transfer your files and manage files for you just as perfectly.

We are all aware of the CamScanner app which was also removed from the Google Play Store in recent history. This is also another app on the list and it can be replaced by Adobe Scan, which is quite reliable and you don’t need to fear for data leaks of any kind. 

Zoom is another app that is being used by many of the organizations to carry on with their work remotely through videoconferencing. This app has been listed too, and you can replace it with Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco Webex.

UC Browser is another app that is used to browse the net, which can be replaced by Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

For documents, if you are using WPS office, that app should also be deleted. You can use the plethora of tools that Google offers, such as Google Sheets, Google Docs. another pro of using Google’s tools is that there are no ads on the apps, unlike every other app.

E-commerce apps, such as SHEIN, Club Factory, Ali Express shouldn’t be used no matter how cheap they offer their products. You can use the Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal which are homegrown e-commerce sites, and you can use them safely.

If you are using Baidu maps, make sure you uninstall it and rely on the regular Google and Apple maps.

Another unnecessary app that exists on our phones is a phone cleaning app. You should uninstall every phone cleaning app from your phone as it is not required at all – it doesn’t actually clean your phone! 

All the photo editing apps should also be deleted from your phone, except for Snapseed and Pics Art, which are one of the best for editing your photos. If you use Viva Video for making videos on your phone, this app should be uninstalled and replaced with Kinemaster too. 

Here’s another thing to remember – Strictly avoid downloading any app from any external platform; install your apps only from the Google Play Store.
