As per the reports, the enterprise training providers are experiencing a surge in enrollment in their information technology training programs.

Why Would This Happen?

Basically this includes the emerging technologies such as cloud and data science, as many clients are focusing on upskilling their employees and further preparing them for upcoming projects once normalcy returns.

The co-founder and CEO of a training provider of emerging technologies, Jigsaw Academy, Gaurav Vohra said, “The demand for upskilling programs has increased significantly in the last couple of months. Our programs are job-oriented and once these learners are upskilled, they will have an edge in terms of finding opportunities,”.

The online learning platform Udemy also has seen a 200% growth in overall enrolments for courses in India. 

Which Courses Are In Demand?

The web development and data science have shown strong growth in technical categories i.e. 60% and 58% respectively.

The managing director, Udemy India, Irwin Anand said, “There has been a significant growth in course creation as well. For IT and software there has been a surge of 77% growth in courses being created on Udemy,”.

The professional learning company, Great Learning launched its Corporate Academy in April to enable companies to make the most of the time available during the lockdown.

The founder & CEO, Great Learning, Mohan Lakhamraju said, “In the last 30 days, 25% of active users have already completed at least one course, each of them spending an average of 2 hours per day on the platform. There has been a 200% increase in app installs in the last 60 days,”.

Most of the enterprise training providers recorded heavy traction from emerging technologies like data science, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, machine learning (ML) and cyber security.

In the case of Jigsaw Academy, the demand for AI and cloud has increased by 250% since the lockdown began. 

While at SpringPeople, They have seen an increase in demand for over 40% in popular courses like DevOps, cloud and machine learning.

How Does Learning Provider Support?

Citing the massive layoffs in the IT companies, some learning companies are helping in reskilling these people for better career prospects.

On the other Hand, enterprise training provider, SpringPeople has given free access to its self-paced training courses through its enterprise learning platform.

The cofounder and CEO, SpringPeople, Ravi Kaklasaria said, “This will help in enhancing their skills and prepare them for jobs of the future. These courses on our learning platform ‘LnDCloud’ are bundled with video-based learning, capstone projects, assignments etc. User engagement has doubled on our platform since lockdown,”.
