Leading e-commerce giant Flipkart has now assured that if you order groceries on their platform, they will reach you within 90 minutes only!

Yes, Flipkart will soon be launching a hyperlocal delivery business in India where you can buy goods from your neighborhood and have them delivered to your doorstep.

Flipkart To Launch Hyperlocal Delivery Platform: Promises Delivery Within 90 Minutes

E-commerce giant Flipkart will soon be launching another business vertical that will work with local grocery stores and deliver goods to their customers. 

In the lockdown, many people have relied on the online delivery services to get their essential goods and products which has led to many companies such as Reliance Industries’ Jio Mart and Amazon to tap into this vertical. 

Flipkart will be joining hands with the logistic startup Shadowfax for last mile delivery to their customers. An investment of $60 million has also been done last year. Sources that are close to the development have revealed, “The launch is a month away, but the long-term plan is to deliver everything in 90 minutes.”

Flipkart will initially start deliveries from its own dark stores, local warehouses and some selected shops which will gradually be extended to the corner stores and modern retailers within a specific neighborhood 

Walmart-owned Flipkart has assured that they will be delivering orders to their customers within a record time of 90 minutes only. 

Reports have also revealed that this service will initially begin in Bengaluru and will be A1 City project until the Flipkart’s Big Billion Sale which happens in October every year. 

Also, Amazon had previously experienced with this vertical back in 2016, when it launched Amazon Now in select areas in Bangalore.

Amazon Launches Online Food Delivery Platform

Falling in line with Zomato, Swiggy and other online food delivery platforms is Amazon, the US-based retail giant. Amazon has launched Amazon Food in select areas of Bengaluru, viz. Mahadevapura, Marathalli, Bellandur, and Whitefield.

In a statement, Amazon says, “We are launching Amazon Food in select Bangalore pin codes allowing customers to order from handpicked local restaurants and cloud kitchens that pass our high hygiene certification bar.” 

The platform also revealed that they will be strictly following the highest standards of safety to make sure that the customers remain safe and also have a delightful experience.
