The lockdown period imposed in India noticed that many companies had to fire their employees and shut down their factories. But there are some industries that noticed huge spikes in their businesses. 

CashKaro, has revealed the top e-commerce trends observed by the company during the lockdown period.

People have been stuck at home and have chosen to pass their time by relying either on online education or online entertainment, which have emerged as the top two trends in the e-commerce market.

CashKaro Reveals Trends In E-commerce Platforms; Online Education Platform Emerges Winner

As per CashKaro, online education platforms take the gold, with about 5000% growth to their credit during the lockdown. In the online education segment, Byju’s, Vedantu, Udemy, upGrad, Eduonix, Coursera are the educational platforms that attracted the most customers. Digital Marketing, Python Programming, Web Development, Microsoft Excel, and IIT JEE Test Prep are the top 5 courses that learners bought.

Next in line was the OTT Entertainment industry, which recorded 2000% growth during the lockdown. The online entertainment industry recorded as much as 2767% boost in its popularity, with Zee5, AltBalaji and others emerged at the top. Also, many of the popular movies that were slated to be released were launched on the OTT channels, including Laxmmi Bomb and GulaboSitabo. 

The online gaming vertical comes in next, with a growth of 350% in the lockdown period. Online games such as Adda52, LeoVegas, etc came up at the top with people heavily engaged in single and multiplayer games. Also, the segment noticed users of various demographics and age groups as well.

Health & Beauty Segments, Healthcare Vertical Record Rise In Business

Personal care and wellness brands also noticed a boost in their businesses, such as Mamaearth, Arata, The Moms Co, The Man Company, JIVA Ayurveda. This makes Health & Beauty segment to grow by 132%

The healthcare vertical also recorded a rise, as people preferred to buy their medicines and healthcare products online on platforms such as Mfine, Lybrate, and DocsApp, rather than purchasing them on the physical stores. Additionally, masks, gloves, hand-wash, sanitizers, etc. saw a huge boost in sales as people took efforts to maintain physical hygiene and safety.
