India’s one of the biggest labor unions with 1 crore+ members: Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh will protest against privatization move by Govt of India.
This protest is being done by a labor union, which is backed by RSS, which is considered as an ideological mentor to the BJP, the party in power.
And this makes this very interesting.

Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Will Protest Against Govt
Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, established in 1955 at Bhopal has more than 1 crore members, and considered one of the biggest labor unions in India. It’s the labor-wing of RSS.
On June 10th, under the slogan of ‘Save Public Sector, Save India’, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh will carry a massive protest against the Govt.
More than 1 crore members are expected to join this protest.
Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh or BMS is protesting for anti-worker moves executed by the Govt, which mainly boils down to privatization decisions of PSU banks, companies such as Air India, BPCL and more.
In a statement, BMS said, “It is being observed from past few decisions of the government that it is trying to push and impose its unjust decisions on the workers of the country. The BMS is committed to fight until it stops the government from taking the anti-public sector and anti-worker decisions,”
Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Protests Against Anti-Labor Moves
This is not the first time BMS has raised its voice against a Govt., which they supported and brought into power.
Last month, BMS had issued a statement against the anti-labor moves and decisions in UP, MP and Gujarat.
All these three states are ruled by BJP.
These states, along with Rajasthan, Goa and Maharashtra had waived off the labor laws for some time, and enabled employers to ask their employees to work for more than 8 hours.
They had issued this statement on May 14th: “Migrant worker’s issues have aggravated mainly because there is gross violation of Migrant labour act by most of states. Hence we are pushed to the wall and there is no other way out except going for agitation.”
Along with this, a nation-wide agitation was planned on May 20th.
It will be interesting to observe how BJP-led Centre responds to this call for protest by Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh.
