NITES, AIFITE, ITEA Launch #JusticeforEmployees Campaign to Help Lakhs Of IT Employees Fired During Lockdown

Ever since the lockdown was announced by Govt of India to curb corona virus spread in the country, IT employees have been at a receiving end.

Some of the biggest IT firms have abruptly stopped salaries of employees, cancelled earned leaves, and in worst case, firing them without any notice.

In Pune-Mumbai locations alone, around 68,000 employees have been directly impacted due to these shrewd tactics by IT firms.

Now, NITES & other IT forums have joined forces, and decided to stop this ill-treatment of employees.

This is for the first time ever that Associations and Unions across the country have come together on a platform to raise a protest against the illegal layoffs and unethical demands of NASSCOM.

#JusticeForEmployees Movement Launched By NITES

National Information Technology Employees Senate or NITES is a nonprofit which is devoted to help and empower IT employees across India.

Along with NITES, other IT employee unions such as Information Technology Employees Association (ITEA), Telangana and All India Forum for IT Employees (AIFITE), Tamilnadu have initiated a massive protest against IT layoffs.

Solidarity has been requested from other forums as well who are working for the welfare and rights of IT and ITES employees.

In a bid to help and assist lakhs of IT employees who were fired or didn’t receive salaries across Maharashtra, Delhi NCR, Tamilnadu and Telangana NITES, AIFITE and ITEA has initiated a silent protest on social media.

Called #JusticeForEmployees, this protest is directed towards those IT employees, who are being mistreated by their own company, during these hard times of a pandemic. 

Employees, who have been loyal to their companies, but now, when they need most help from their employers, they are being abandoned.

Campaign to Reinstate the employees.

Dear friends,

A lot of our colleagues have lost their jobs and salaries recently. Under such difficult circumstances employees are unable to join any other company. It has become next to impossible for these employees to fulfill the financial obligations and take care of their families. Hence we are starting a campaign in which you need to write on a paper #JusticeforEmployees hold it in your hands and click a snapshot.

This is a silent protest as being Government’s GR in force Companies are still violating the orders openly. We would be sharing the pics so that Government should take cognizance of our complaints and issue orders to reinstate the employees.

If anyone wants to keep identity confidential please hold the poster covering your half or full face. But its a humble request to support & take part in the campaign so that affected employees can get their jobs back…

Support Pouring In From All Quarters

NITES has already received hundreds of protest images from the employees, and other labor unions are too supporting this movement to help IT employees.

Vinay Kumar Pyaraka, Founder & President, Information Technology Employees Association, Telangana said, “A lot of our colleagues have lost their jobs and salaries recently. Under such difficult circumstances employees are unable to join any other company. It has become next to impossible for these employees to fulfill the financial obligations and take care of their families. Hence we have started a campaign to protect the livelihood of those employees,who lost their jobs.

ITEA has joined hands in the silent protest against the illegal layoffs by the organizations as being Government’s orders in force Companies are still violating the orders openly.”

Vinod AJ, General Secretary, All India Forum for IT Employees from Tamil Nadu also declared this support for this cause.

He said, “A lot of our friends have lost their jobs and salaries during Covid Lockdown and even before. All over India, thousands of employees have been filed the petition to various Govt(s) through AIFITE.

After these situations, the employees are unable to join any other company. It made these employees not to fulfill the financial needs and take care of their families.
