It was last year when Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo revealed that they joined forces to launch a technology that will enable cross-brand file transfer.

And now, there is news that some more smartphone manufacturers, such as Black Shark, OnePlus, etc. have joined the wagon as well.

Black Shark, Meizu, OnePlus, and Realme Join P2P File Transfer Alliance

Black Shark, Meizu, OnePlus, and Realme are the newest smartphone manufacturers to join the “Peer-to-Peer Transmission Alliance”. This alliance already has Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi as the initial members.

Reports have revealed that with these three companies joining the P2P Alliance, the cross brand solution will reach as much as 40 crores.

For this wireless update to work on the upcoming phones, smartphone manufacturers have released new updates for their software to employ the wireless transfer. Last month, Black Shark announced the release of Joy UI 11 that will have the new file transfer protocol. Also, Meizu, OnePlus, and Realme will also be offering new protocols in their future software updates.

This inter-transfer alliance group enables the users of these smartphone brands to transfer data and files from one phone to another. This transfer does not require any internet connection as well. This transfer will be carried out at an average speed of 20 Mbps and can be conducted through Bluetooth.

Wireless File Transfer connection Supports Multiple File Formats

The wireless file transfer was previously available as Mi Share on Xiaomi devices and Oppo Share on Oppo phones. And now, the P2P file transfer will use Bluetooth fast pairing and Wi-Fi P2P (Peer-to-Peer) connectivity to send files. What’s more, it doesn’t mess with the Wi-Fi connection on going on the smartphone of the users while transferring the files.

In addition to this, the wireless file transfer connection supports multiple file formats and does not require any dedicated application as well.

Any type of files, including songs, movies, images, videos and more can be transferred between the phones of the above mentioned smartphone companies. In simpler words, the P2P file transfer will allow you to transfer a 720p movie easily in under 2 minutes with the help of high speed Bluetooth.
