Redmi and Realme are bringing budget TWS earbuds: Redmi AirDots and Realme Buds Air Neo. Both the budget wireless earbuds Redmi AirDots and Realme Buds Air Neo will go against each other. Redmi AirDots will launch in India on May 26, while the rival Realme Buds Air Neo on May 25.

Both Redmi and Realme confirmed the launch of the respective wireless earbuds in India.

Realme Buds Air Neo has been confirmed by Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth. Realme announced it has sold over 1 million smart audio AIoT products. Realme truly wireless earbuds will be announced alongside Realme TV and Realme Watch on May 25. 

The Realme Buds Air Neo has been leaked several times already and the earphones are speculated to be more affordable than the current Realme Buds Air.

Redmi AirDots, Realme Buds Air Neo: What To Expect?

Redmi AirDots and Realme Buds Air Neo will launch a day apart, May 26 and May 25 respectively. The company has been promoting the Redmi truly wireless earbuds with the #NoStringsAttached hashtag. Xiaomi recently unveiled Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 in India at Rs 4,499.

Redmi is yet to confirm the name of the upcoming TWS product. The teaser image is the same as already launched Redmi AirDots or AirDots S in China. 

Redmi will be entering the TWS segment in India under the Xiaomi brand. Redmi AirDots will launch in the country after Realme Buds Air Neo.

The Redmi AirDots event page confirmed features as low-latency gaming mode, IP rating for sweat resistance, big battery and voice assistant support.

Realme Buds Air Neo was confirmed by the company CEO Madhav Sheth via the official Twitter handle. Realme announced it has sold over 1 million smart audio AIoT products in the country. Realme truly wireless earbuds, the Buds Air Neo will be announced alongside Realme TV and Realme Watch.

Connectivity, Dynamic Drivers

Starting with Redmi AirDots, the Redmi true wireless earbuds will come with a touch-sensitive button. It can be used for music playback and other options. Redmi AirDots will be 7.2mm dynamic drivers with support for Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.

Realme Buds Air Neo will also come with Bluetooth 5.0 and 13mm bass boost drivers.

Realme Buds Air Neo will have an optical sensor. The Buds Air Neo will detect whenever the buds are placed i.e in-ear placement. The Realme Buds will also feature a touch sensor on the surface which can be used to control music and calls.

Design, Battery Life

Realme Buds Air Neo will come with a similar design as the original Buds Air in terms of design language. Realme Buds Air Neo will have a few downgrades with some lesser features. Redmi AirDots S TWS and Redmi AirDots both feature similar build and design.

The Redmi truly wireless earbuds will have the same 7.2mm driver with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Looking at the teaser, Xiaomi India will launch either the Redmi AirDots or Redmi AirDots S in the country. 

Realme Buds Air Neo is already listed on the Realme India website, and it confirms Realme Buds Air Neo with 17 hours battery life in total.

Redmi truly wireless earbuds claimed to last up to 4 hours on a single charge in the teaser. Redmi AirDots will additionally offer 12 hours playback through the carry case. Redmi AirDots also features environmental noise cancellation (ENC).

Charging Case, Playback, Calls

Redmi AirDots charging case will not support wireless charging. The Redmi truly wireless earbuds will feature a microUSB port for charging instead of a Type-C port as Mi True Wireless Earphones 2. Relame Buds Air Neo is expected to support charging via Type-C port on the case.

Realme Buds Air Neo will feature  a Super Low Latency Mode which will help it with improved connectivity and will effectively reduce latency by up to 50 percent compared to the normal mode.

In the listing, Realme also has confirmed seamless auto-connection whenever the earbuds are connected or disconnected. A lot of features from Reame Buds Air are expected on Realme Buds Air Neo including support for voice assistant within the truly wireless earbuds.

Redmi AirDots, Realme Buds Air Neo: Price, Availability

Redmi AirDots in China were launched last year. Redmi AirDots price in China is RMB 99.99 (around Rs 1,100). It’s quite cheap and affordable. With the basic features, the Redmi AirDots in India is expected under Rs 1,500.

Redmi AirDots price in India may start somewhere around Rs 1,299 or Rs 1,499.

Realme Buds Air Neo price in India is said to be set at Rs 2,999, as per some leaks. Currently, the Realme Buds Air is available at Rs 3,999. Realme Buds Air Neo is already listed on the Realme India website, the Buds Air Neo will come in green, red and white colour options.
