The Coronavirus pandemic has heavily affected the economy by declining the income, profit of these industries by suspending all the operations of every organization.

Probably the only industry that found its business and profits boosted would be the online streaming channels, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

The film industry too has been affected, with the releases of movies postponed as the theatres have all been shut down.

However, amidst the lockdown, the film industry has instead decided that they will be releasing some of the upcoming movies on OTT channels itself.

Laxmmi Bomb, Gulabo Sitabo, And Other Films To Release Digitally On OTT Channels

Laxmi Bomb – Disney+ Hotstar

Laxmmi Bomb, a Raghava Lawrence directed film with Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starring in it, will be released on the Disney+ Hotstar channel. The filmmakers are in talks with the channel to release the movie digitally. The movie was scheduled to be released on May 22, however, as there is still a lot of post production work in the pipeline, this horror comedy will be released in June.

Gulabo Sitabo – Amazon Prime Video

Next in line is Gulabo Sitabo, which will be released digitally on Amazon Prime Video. The film is a family comedy that features Ayushmann Khurana and Amitabh Bachchan, directed by Shoojit Sircar. As per reports, the rights of the film have been acquired by Amazon Prime video after the director revealed that he’s “open to a digital release if need be”.

Dharalu Prabhu – Amazon Prime Video

Another movie that will soon be broadcasted on the same OTT channel is Dharalu Prabhu. This movie is a Tamil remake of the very popular Vicky Donor movie. However, this movie was released in theatres on March 13, and will soon be found streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Shershaah – Netflix

Shershah is next in line to be broadcasted on Netflix, with Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani as its protagonists. The movie is based on the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Vikram Batra.

Some other movies that will most likely be released on OTT channels are the Vidya Balan-starrer Shakuntala Devi, Karan Johar’s Gunjan Saxena-The Kargil Girl featuring Jahnvi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan’s, Jhund and Chehre, and Anurag Basu-directed Ludo starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra, and Fatima Sana Sheikh
