30% Workforce In Tech Mahindra Will Work From Home Till 2020-End: How Will This Work?

After TCS, Capgemini, Wipro, Infosys and other IT biggies, it’s the turn of Tech Mahindra to embrace work from home in a massive scale.

As per reports coming in, Tech Mahindra can allow 30% of their entire workforce to work from home. Its a major tectonic shift in work culture we are seeing here.

But, how will it work?

Tech Mahindra: Upto 30% Of Employees Can Work From Home

Manoj Bhat, who is the chief financial officer at Tech Mahindra recently revealed that they can allow upto 30% of all employees to work from home.

And this arrangement can be extended for the entire 2020.

They are already in talks with the clients, so that 30% of Tech Mahindra employees assigned to various projects can work from home for the entire year.

There ar e 1.25 lakh employees of Tech Mahindra, and if 30% of the employees are indeed working from home, then it means 37,500 employees wont be required to come to office.

Bhat said, “We believe that 25-30 per cent is a number that can easily be sustained (for WFH) in the current financial year. We have seen a lot of willingness from customers to consider remote working. But we have to work with our customers to make this a viable model which will happen in the next 1-2 quarters,”

How Will This Work Out?

As per Bhart, they are already implementing cutting edge integrated command control system in place, which can be used to monitor the work accomplished, and for data security purpose.

Besides, the company is striving to make quality management an online, real-time process, rather than making it dependent on lengthy protocols and documentations.

Bhat admitted that data privacy is a big issue, which needs more indepth look, and  solution. He said,  “That’s why we are not talking about a much higher number.”

TCS has already announced that 75% of their workforce can be asked to work from home by 2025.

We will keep you updated, as more details come in.
