The Coronavirus pandemic has sent the world in a frenzy, with all operations and working in the world being postponed indefinitely. The lockdown imposed by the disease has also affected the timetables of all the exams.

As per the fresh news coming in, the Joint Entrance Exams (JEE) Main and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exams will be held at the end of July.

HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Announces JEE Mains To Be Held In July

Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced in his live webinar that the IIT JEE Main and NEET exams have been postponed. As per Pokhriyal, JEE Main will be conducted in July, which will begin on July 18 and will commence till July 23. 

He also announced that the medical entrance test will be held on July 26. 

Earlier, the JEE Advanced exam was to take place on May 17, whereas, the JEE Mains Exams were to start on April 5 and end on April 11, which were canceled due to the unrestricted spread of Coronavirus disease.

Syllabus For JEE Main and NEET 2021 To Be Curtailed; Various Study Modes Available

Additionally, the syllabus for the JEE Main and NEET 2021 has been curtailed. The minister has asked the students to self-study and take the assistance of digital studying modes, such as SWAYAM, Diksha to prepare for these exams. They have also arranged for the content to be broadcasted through SWAYAM Prabha TV.

He has also announced that the decision regarding CBSE Class 10, 12 exam dates will be announced in two days. 

As per the exam conducting body, National Testing Agency (NTA), more than 15 lakh students throughout India have registered to appear for the NEET this year and more than 9 lakh students were to appear for JEE Mains. Only the top 2.5 lakh students will be qualified to appear for JEE Advanced exam.

As we all know, the JEE Mains is considered as the qualifying exam for JEE-Advanced wherein the students are selected at 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) throughout the nation to pursue the undergraduate courses leading to a Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s or Bachelor’s-Master’s Dual Degree in Engineering, Science or Architecture.
