Despite Zero Sales, Bajaj Auto Will Pay 100% Salary To All Employees; Will ‘Act From Heart Not Minds’

The Coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown imposed therefore has impacted the economy and almost every industry in the country drastically. However, there is one good news amidst the chaos – automobile manufacturer, Bajaj Auto Ltd., announced that despite zero sales this month, all the employees will be getting paid in full.

Bajaj Auto’s Human Resources Department Declares No Wage Cut For Employees 

Bajaj Auto has declared that they will “share in the pain in the bad times” with their employees.

This will definitely come as a relief to the employees, as everyone everywhere is worried if they will receive their salaries or not. The worry is especially due to the lockdown imposed by the Government to restrict the spreading of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier, Bajaj Auto was planning to cut 10% of the wages across the board so as to conserve the cash as all the businesses and operations were stopped completely due to the lockdown. Additionally, the Managing director, Rajiv Bajaj had also decided to forego his entire salary for the month. 

Despite Zero Monthly Sales, Bajaj Auto Will Pay Their Employees Full Wages

The company’s human resource department has penned a letter that is addressed to “Colleagues, Friends”. The company states wisely, ‘The heart usually knows what to do. The challenge is to silence the mind.”

The letter reads, “We have hence concluded that everyone including all of the contract labour engaged by us will be paid their full salary for Apr 2020. We will next review this matter towards the end of May taking into account the degree of positive impact on our business of the implementation of the progressive unlocking that is anticipated.”

Every automobile company has faced the losses caused by the lockdown. Many of the automobile companies, including Maruti Suzuki, have reported zero monthly sales for the first time in its entire history. This led to many manufacturers slashing the wages of their employees in order to conserve the cash.
