In one of the biggest relaxation provided for shop keepers and SMEs, Govt has allowed opening of all commerical establishments from Saturday, April 26th onwards.

This will not be applied for those shops which are in the containment or red zone.

Govt: All Commercial Shops To Be Opened

In a late night tweet, spokesperson for Ministry of Home Affairs informed that a revised order has been issued under Disaster Management Act, wherein all commercial shops, local neibhourhood shops are allowed to be opened from Saturday, April 26th onwards.

There are some rules and regulations for this relaxation of rules, and no shops will be opened which are in the containment zones.

The tweet said: “#COVID19 update

All registered shops regd under Shops & Establishment Act of respective States/ UTs, including shops in residential complexes, neighborhood & standalone shops exempted from #lockdown restrictions. 

Prohibited: Shops in single & multi brand  malls.”

List Of Shops To Be Opened From Saturday Onwards

As per the new circular issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the list of shops which are now allowed to be opened:

  • All shops and stores registered under Shops and Establishment Act which are outside the municipal corporations and municipalities are now allowed to be open. This includes market complexes, malls, local stores and shops.
  • All shops and stores registered under Shops and Establishment Act, which are inside the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities.
  • Malls and shopping complexes situated within the municipal corporations and municipalities are not allowed to be opened
  • All local salons and parlours are allowed to be opened
  • All local shops in rural and semi-rural areas allowed to be opened
  • Non-essential goods and services in urban areas are allowed to be opened, only if they are in residential complexes, local shops
  • All local kirana stores, small shops located in urban locations allowed to be open
  • Whichever shops are allowed, they can only be opened with 50% staff, and masks, social distancing is compulsory
  • No shop, or local store within containment zones will be allowed to be opened
