Xiaomi will launch the world’s first 150MP camera phone. The company has partnered with Samsung for a 150MP camera phone with the sensor manufactured by the latter. Xiaomi also unveiled the world’s first 108MP camera phone last year.
It was a 108-megapixel Samsung sensor used, and again Xiaomi will be using a 150MP sensor made by Samsung.
Xiaomi and Samsung together will bring the world’s first 150MP camera phone. The smartphone will be from Xiaomi, while Samsung will be supplying the 150-megapixel camera. The Xiaomi 150MP camera phone is said to be coming in Q4 2020.

Xiaomi was previously reported to be working on a 192MP camera phone as well. Xiaomi has been a frontrunner when it comes to using top-end high-resolution camera sensors. From 48MP to 64MP to 108MP camera sensors, Xiaomi has used them all in different smartphones.
The new Xiaomi smartphone will feature a 150-megapixel camera. It’s the first of it’s kind sensor to come from Samsung, and it will launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
Currently 108MP camera sensor remains on top of the high-resolution camera sensors.
Both Samsung and Xiaomi brought flagships with 108MP cameras, and Realme is said to be bringing their next with the same 108MP sensor, the Realme X3 SuperZoom.
Samsung and Xiaomi both have used the high-resolution camera sensors for multiple smartphones. Particularly Xiaomi has been a frontrunner when it comes to using top-end high-resolution camera sensors. From 48MP to 64MP to 108MP camera sensors, Xiaomi has used them all.
Samsung 150MP Sensor: How It Works?
Xiaomi 150MP camera phone may come first, and then Samsung may challenge Xiaomi with a flagship with the same 150MP camera sensor. Xiaomi is yet to officially confirm the 150MP camera phone or any such development.
The 150MP camera sensor will be a part of any of the flagship series, probably Mi MIX series or some new camera-focused smartphone.
The 150-megapixel Samsung camera sensor is believed to be already ready, and may enter mass production anytime. The 150MP sensor has a 1-inch footprint and will be using the same Nanocell technology as the company used for the Galaxy S20 Ultra’s ISOCELL Bright HM1 sensor.
The 150MP sensor will be combining nine pixels into one to achieve a higher resolution picture. It will use light absorption technology to create final shots which technically will have a pixel count of close to 16MP.
Samsung is said to be working on an array of high-resolution camera sensors including a 250-megapixel camera sensor, a 600-megapixel camera sensor and even sensors which can match up to what human eyes can see at 500-megapixel resolution.
Xiaomi 150MP Camera Phone: Will It Come To India?
The 150MP camera phone may come to India if launched in China, as the company will be bringing more flagships to the country in the following months. Already Xiaomi has a 108MP camera phone coming to India in a few days, the Mi 10.
The Mi 10 launch was delayed due to the recent lockdown caused by COVID-19, and it’s also the first 108MP camera phone in India.
OPPO and Vivo are said to be working on similar smartphones with a 150MP camera. It’s said to be coming in early next year which will be powered by the next generation Qualcomm flagship chip, the Snapdragon 875 chipset.
