Whatsapp To Allow More Users In Group Calls; To Compete With Google Duo, Zoom

Video conferencing apps, such as Google Duo, Zoom, have found a boost in their popularity due to the lockdown imposed nationwide. Organizations have been using video calling platforms for group video calling and conducting their meetings. People all around the world are using them for video calling and getting in touch with their family and friends in a critical time like this.

Whatsapp video calling feature was previously limited only to four or less people. However, Whatsapp’s features tracker WABetaInfo has revealed some new features on its website. These features will be found on WhatsApp v2.20.128 beta and WhatsApp v2.20.129 beta for Android.

Herein, the account states that Whatsapp v2.20.128 beta for Android update suggests that the Group Call Limit will be extended.

WABetaInfo tweeted, “You’ll be able to get in touch with your family and friends better, thanks to the new group call limit, available within the next weeks.

This is the best decision taken by @WhatsApp: we can stay safe at home, but we can meet virtually more people we love though WhatsApp ?”

Will The Update Bring Flaws In Group Video Calling?

However, the number of people that will be added to the call hasn’t been revealed yet. Also, there is no news about when this update will be launched, only that the popular social networking app is working on the development of the feature.

The tracker also issues warnings that the latest beta update will also bring in a few flaws in the group calling feature. They have also advised not to update to this version if group calling is being used often by the user.

As per reports, this feature was found previously in WhatsApp v2.20.50.23 beta for iOS.

There is also another beta for Android – WhatsApp v2.20.129 that Whatsapp has announced, which will bring a new call header that ensures that calls are secured with end-to-end encryption.
