FUP Limit Introduced On Tata Sky Unlimited Broadband Plans: No More Unlimited Data!

FUP limit has been introduced for Tata Sky unlimited broadband plans. From now on, the Tata Sky’s unlimited broadband plans will have a FUP limit of 1.5TB i.e 1,500GB of fair usage. Post the FUP limit, the download speeds will come down to 2Mbps.

Recently Airtel also announced a similar limit on usage.

Now the Airtel broadband plans also come with an FUP limit now. Airtel Xstream Fibre now has a FUP limit of 3.3TB or 3,300GB usage on its unlimited plans.

FUP Limit Introduced On Tata Sky Unlimited Broadband Plans

The Tata Sky unlimited broadband plans start from Rs 900 in the country offering unlimited data for a month. The unlimited plans offer a speed of 25 Mbps. With the lockdown on, data usage has jumped up exponentially.

As a result Tata Sky has now chosen to introduce FUP (Fair Usage Policy) with limits.

The FUP limit though in comparison is considerably high. You get a total of 1500GB a month of fair usage at 25Mbps. So, everyday you have 50GB high-speed data to be used, more than enough for most of the households.

Tata Sky Unlimited Broadband Plans: No More Unlimited Data?

Tata Sky’s unlimited broadband plans will have a FUP limit of 1.5TB i.e 1,500GB of fair usage. But even if you manage to use all the data, after 1500GB you will also get additional data at lowered down speeds.

Post the FUP limit of 1500GB, the download speeds will come down to 2Mbps.

The regular usage of the internet has jumped by multiple times due to the current lockdown. With the lockdown being extended now, the usage pattern is expected to remain the same till early May.

Under the latest policy, if you reach that given data usage limit, you can continue using the internet, but at a reduced speed. The unlimited data download is guaranteed, but it will be available at reduced speed.

Tata Sky unlimited data plans now have a FUP limit of 1500GB. So, you can continue using unlimited data, post exhaustion, the speed will be reduced to 2Mbps for the rest of the month.
