Capgemini has been in the news a lot lately, especially for all the wrong reasons. We already know that the company has tweaked its leave policy in India temporarily, wherein, they canceled the earned leaves of all employees and also postponed the increment for 30% of the staff.

However,  Capgemini India’s CEO has cleared the air during an interview. 

Ashwin Yardi, CEO India, Capgemini has revealed the way the organization manages its employees, new hiring and onboarding, wellness initiatives for the employees, and other such issues.

Capgemini To Continue With Hiring And Onboarding

As much as 95% of the workforce of Capgemini is now working from their homes and the company is planning to go ahead with their increments and promotions for all junior professionals effective from April 1, 2020.

Yardi also revealed that new hiring and onboarding will also be continued as per their initial plans and the client requirements. The new hiring will focus on hiring employees that have ‘New Age Technologies’ such as Digital, Cloud, and Data Analytics. 

The Group IT team of the company has been sending desktops or laptops to the employees’s homes along with a set of instructions that will help configure and connect remotely to Capgemini’s network. 

Wellness Initiatives Announced By Companies; Includes Meditation, Tasks, Events

The company has also announced a series of wellness initiatives for their employees. They have arranged for counseling sessions for their employees with the help of their empanelled counseling service provider.

They are also conducting webinars in association with their external partners on some important topics such as dealing with anxiety and stress. Also, the company has initiated a Guided Meditation series in association with its wellness partner which includes light pre-exercise, meditation, and post-exercise. Also, best practices of maintaining health and hygiene are being circulated among the employees during such a critical period.

He said, “We have launched programmes like ‘Re-vive in Five’ where we reach out to the entire team with a topic other than work every day – wellbeing, productivity improvement, health to help spread positivity and team bonding. We also have a similar employee engagement through the ‘21 Day Habit Challenge’.”

They have also launched a ‘Capgemini Bigg Boss challenge’ where employees and their families can participate in a series of tasks and events. These include creativity challenge, showcasing the unique talent of family or friend, online quiz contest, fitness challenge and a theme dressing challenge.
