MIUI 12 supported smartphones have been leaked. The source reveals the first set of Xiaomi and Redmi phones which will receive the first MIUI 12 update. Xiaomi is yet to announce the commencement of MIUI 12 beta test. 

MIUI 12 has been teased, and it’s coming soon. While Xiaomi is still dribbling with MIU1 11 and its rollout to different smartphones, the company has already started to work on the upcoming MIUI 12.

To be based on Android 10 and Android 11, MIUI 12 will be available in multiple versions.

The MIUI 12 has been officially announced, it’s expected to be unveiled by the end of the first half of 2020. The new MIUI is already under development, and there’s a lot of new features expected from the popular Xiaomi popular OS.

Expected MIUI 12 Changes: MIUI 12 Features

The pre-release build of MIUI 12 will soon be ready for beta testing, and is expected to be released in a few months.

The MIUI final release is expected in June 2020.

New System Look

The new MIUI 12 is going to look different than the current MIUI 11. The company is said to be working on a more minimalistic theme with newer iconography.

The current MIUI 11 have different icons, and the successor is said to have colourful icons.

Based On Android 11, Android 10

The first version of MIUI 12 will run on Android 10, while the later versions will be based on the upcoming Android 11. Google will be rolling out the upcoming Android OS soon, and many companies will start to work on the upcoming version quickly.

Xiaomi hasn’t yet confirmed whether the first version of the new MIUI 12 will be based on Android 10 or Android 12.

Always-On Display Optimisation

Already unveiled Always-On-Display may have an optimised look ok MIUI 12. Xiaomi will improve the always-on display currently available. It will be able to work without the need of an AMOLED panel. MIUI 11 already comes with the MIUI Always-on Display feature.

It offers a Kaleidoscope like experience with five different patterns. If rotates each time when you turn the screen on.

Sunrise & Sunset Schedule

Already available on some smartphones with MIUI 11, the upcoming MIUI 12 will set all smartphones to set an outer space style on the screen. This can be done both manually or in an automated manner.

The changes will happen accordingly, and the light will differ based on the sunrise and sunset schedule. It will happen based on your specific location.

Dynamic Sounds & Video Wallpapers

Xiaomi has included the new dynamic sounds feature and video wallpapers with the new MIUI 11. While it already has features which help to enhance the experience, you will have more control over the audio with MIUI 12. 

The dynamic sounds feature will add up to offer a more customised music experience with MIUI 12. 

Xiaomi Community App

More features on the community app are expected. MIUI has a Xiaomi Community app, and it’s expected to get better on MIUI 12. The company is said to adding up new features and benefits to the system community app.

System Wide Dark Mode Optimisation & Quick Replies

Currently the latest MIUI 11 comes with a system wide dark mode. The company has added a dark mode scheduler so that the system turns into dark once the sun sets, or according to your time.

MIUI 12 will have a better optimisation of the dark mode with improved quick replies option with a wider acceptance on different apps.

Lesser Ads

The company has previously hinted that MIUI 11 will get lesser ads and they are expected to cut down on ads with the upcoming MIUI 12 version. The latest version have lesser or almost-no vulgar ads, and it’s expected to come to zero with MIUI 12 .

Ads offensive in nature should have the option to be reported and they will have to be removed.

Monochrome Power Saving Mode 

The company has already confirmed that the new MIUI 11 will come with an ultra power saving mode. It’s helpful during the crunch situations. The latest UI will feature a new monochrome power-saving mode.

The power-saving mode disables all the background apps and features to extend the battery output.

Additional Features

MIUI 12 will have certain useful additional features as automatic screenshot deletion post sharing, transition animations, status bar optimisations, in-system bold text, Charge Turbo function and more. 

More features are expected including additional handy options with photography.
