Taking into consideration the dire situation created by the coronavirus, Indian Railways is now offering its services to the e-commerce industry to transport their goods and products. 

We all know that major e-commerce platforms, Amazon, Flipkart had shut down due to the lockdown, but have now resumed their services. However, they are now delivering only essential services as directed by the Government.

Indian Railways To Transport Goods For Ecommerce Companies

The spread of the disease and the lockdown has led to a huge impact on the e-commerce platforms among all the other industries. However, people are choosing to order essential services online so as not to step out of their homes. 

Indian railways has come to the help of the eCommerce platforms by offering bulk transportation of food grains, salt, sugar, edible oil, milk, coal, cement, vegetables, fruits.

As per the Railway Ministry, e-commerce companies, local industries, any interested groups, individuals, organizations, as well as prospective loaders can get in touch with officers of the Indian Railways at the zonal level.
