#Coronavirus: Oyo Will Provide Rooms For Quarantine, Apollo Hospitals Will Pay 50% Charges

In a noble move, Oyo Rooms has announced that they will provide their rooms in some selected hotels for quarantine facilities, amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

In the US, Oyo Rooms is already offering their rooms free of charge to all healthcare workers, including doctors and nurses.

In India, they had earlier announced their intentions of helping healthcare workers, and coronavirus patients with their rooms. But nothing substantial happened.

But now, Oyo has confirmed their commitment towards helping out coronavirus patients and defeating this outbreak.

Ritesh Agarwal, Founder & Group CEO said, “We want to work with state governments and private institutions to problem solve and assist in the fight against COVID-19. Our partnership with Apollo Hospitals has been developed to ensure we utilise capacity where possible to create highly sanitised pay per use quarantine facilities under the guidance and supervision of medical professionals.”

Here are the highlights:

• Oyo Rooms and Apollo Hospitals have joined their forces, to provide rooms within selected Oyo Rooms partner hotels for quarantine facilities
• The bookings has to be made via Apollo Hospitals, so that the actual need and requirement of the quarantined facilities are found out
• This facility has been rolled out across 6 cities:  Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata
• The selected Oyo Rooms for this gesture will be based nearby Apollo Hospitals
• Operations have already started in Bengaluru and Hyderabad,and soon it will start in New Delhi
• This is a pay-per-use quarantine facility, wherein 50% of expenses will be provided by Apollo Hospitals, in those cases, where the patient is not able to make the payment
• This 50% assistance by Apollo Hospitals has been arranged via CSR initiative from SBI and HUL. This will be done for category 1 rooms of Oyo, which are being used for quarantine purpose
• The selected hotels where the quarantine facility has been set up will have sanitized beds, proper medical facilities and more.
• Oyo Rooms is also providing shelter and help to tourists and travellers, who are stuck due to the nation-wide lockdown
