Coronavirus outbreak has now reached the third stage in India, by far the most dangerous. The number of infected patients is now 819, and the death toll stands at 19. The numbers are rising every day and in huge multiples.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created a micro donation fund for all citizens to do their bit and contribute as much as they want as per their capacity.

Contributions have already started flooding in with people donating as per their ability, from the common man to the Akshay Kumar, the Tata Group and the CEO of Ola.

Prime Minister Creates Fund For Coronavirus; Asks Citizens To Donate

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has created a micro-donation fund for people to contribute as and how they liked to help the patients infected and affected by the Coronavirus outbreak.

The Prime Minister tweeted, “People from all walks of life expressed their desire to donate to India”s war against Covid-19. Respecting that spirit, the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund has been constituted. This will go a long way in creating a healthier India.”

Reports have also revealed that popular Bollywood star, Akshay Kumar has also contributed towards this funding. 

Tata Group Donates Rs 1,500 Crore to Fight Coronavirus Pandemic

Tata Trusts chairman Ratan Tata took to Twitter to announce that Rs 1,500 crore will be donated to help the country fight the Coronavirus. 

This money will be used towards personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical personnel on the frontlines, respiratory systems for treating increasing number of COVID-19 cases, testing kits to per capital testing, setting up modular treatment facilities for infected patients, knowledge management and training of health workers and the general public.

Additionally, another Rs. 1000 crore will be donated to support and related work as well.

OLA CEO To Donate His Annual Salary, Company To Donate Rs. 20 Crore For Drivers

Ola CEO and co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal has also joined the band, declaring that he will forgo his salary for one year. Also, the company will be donating Rs. 20 crore for the fund as well.

Ola’s app has also launched a ‘Driver the Driver Fund’ initiative, wherein the online cab hailing platform will be raising Rs. 50 crore by asking money from the crowd for Ola’s auto-rickshaw, cab, kaali-peeli and taxi drivers.
