According to Johns Hopkins University data, the US has become the country with the maximum number of Novel Coronavirus cases crossing 85,600. 

OYO Hotels is set to offer free stays to doctors, nurses in the US helping in the fight against the Covid-19 Pandemic.

OYO to Offer Free Stay for Doctors, Nurses In the US?

The OYO press release said that from March 24, medical first responders will receive free accommodations at any OYO Hotel in the United States so they can sleep, shower or just get off their feet and recharge.

Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and Group CEO, OYO Hotels & Homes, said in the press release, “All of us at OYO are grateful for the bravery and sacrifices all the medical personnel are making to save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19.”

On this provision by OYO, North Carolina Medical Society CEO Robert Seligson said OYO’s offer shows what America is all about. He also said, “If we come together and help each other, show kindness and determination, there isn’t a challenge we won’t overcome. This is a great idea that will help physicians and other health care providers on the front lines during this unprecedented crisis, and I hope others will join them.” 

The medical personnel can call an assigned number to get their reservation for the nearest OYO Room and with a valid active First Responder identification. After that, the OYO Hotels will cover all the tariff.

Will Oyo Be Making Provisions for India?

Last week, Agarwal had offered OYO rooms to be set up as quarantine centres in India. On March 16, Agarwal replied to a Twitter suggestion to convert OYO rooms into quarantine centres and said he would be open to implement the same across cities. 

On March 16, the Delhi government had announced that along with the government-run centres, there would also be ‘pay and quarantine’ hotels in Aerocity in New Delhi. 3 hotels – Red Fox, IBIS and Lemon Tree, would have the option for people to pay and quarantine themselves.
