#Corona: Amazon, Flipkart Stopped From Delivering Products; Bengaluru Cops Shuts Down Water Supply

The entire population of India has been confined to their homes now, and relying heavily on online ordering for most of their needs. Online e-commerce portals have been flooded with online orders, and owing to the lockdown, only essential services will be running on the roads. 

Other than that, residents of Bengaluru have complained that the cops have cut off their water supply and grocery stores to make sure that lockdown is being obeyed in the city.

Online E-Commerce Portals Will Deliver Orders; Although Delayed

Coronavirus has led to 75 districts of India to be on lockdown, with only essential services to be allowed for the citizens. The lockdown has led to people relying heavily on online e-commerce platforms, and online orders have surged.

Note that, e-commerce services are on the Government’s list of essential services that have been allowed to ply on the roads. This signifies that delivery agents like Amazon, Flipkart, Zomato, Swiggy, Bigbasket, Grofers will be able to deliver your orders to your doorstep.

An Amazon spokesperson said, “We are watching this situation closely with a focus on the safety of our teams and ensuring we can meet customer promises. We are closely following guidance from local authority and international organizations as this situation progresses.”

However you should remember that the delivery of these orders will be delayed. 

A Flipkart spokesperson said, “In light of the development where Section 144 has been imposed in several cities, we will be halting our logistics operations for pick-up in those areas. While this puts pressure on our other hubs to operate at more than the usual volumes, we are trying our best to ensure that we are able to meet the demand.”

Bengaluru Cops Cut Off Residents’ Water Supply And Grocery Stores

Looks like some of the officials of the law are taking extreme and unwanted measures to ensure lockdown is being obeyed in Bengaluru.

The Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary have allowed for residents to step on the roads to buy essential services. Bhaskar Rao, IPS, has tweeted, “If you are performing Essential Duties as per Government Order then:

1 travel in company vehicle with Logo

2.wear company Uniform 

3 Carry ID”

However, multiple residents of Bengaluru have complained that cops have cut off their water supply and grocery stores in order to enforce the lockdown. This has happened despite Karnataka Chief Secretary Vijay Bhaskar announcing that grocery stores is one of the essential services that will be allowed to operate.
