Taking into consideration the huge risk that is hanging on our heads in the form of Coronavirus, the most sensible thing to do is to self-isolate ourselves. Many companies and private organizations throughout India have asked their employees to work from home and take proper measures from Coronavirus.from the virus.

However, despite the number of lives that the virus has taken, there are some companies in Pune that have not disregarded the Government’s orders and have been asking their employees to come to their workplaces. 

In fact, one social worker went into the premises of Tech Mahindra in Viman Nagar, Pune, and threatened them if they came into work. However, this social worker has been reprimanded for her actions as well.

Meanwhile, late Sunday evening, an Infosys employee in Pune found to be positive with coronavirus.

IT Companies In Pune Disregarding Govt’s Orders Of Shutting Down Private Organizations

IT companies in Pune have already shut down their offices and are urging their employees to resume their work from home as this is necessary to keep the daily lives of many of us running smoothly. 

However, a worker union of IT employees, FITE, and NITE, a trade union of IT employees have been asking their employees to come to their workplaces to continue working, despite the shut down of all private organizations ordered by the Government. 

A complaint was received by the Pune police from employees that some offices in EON IT Park in Kharadi were asked to come to work ignoring the directions ordered by Maharashtra Chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray.

Ashok Morale, additional commissioner of Pune police, said, “We have spoken to them. We had received a complaint (on Thursday), but it was dealt with swiftly. We have asked them to remain shut for the next 10 days.”

A social worker, Vishakha Gaikwad, associated with MNS, Vishakha Gaikwad, barged into a Tech Mahindra premises in Viman Nagar, and threatened the manager to lock the employees and  in Giga IT Park in Viman Nagar and threatened the manager to shut the office down or to face the repercussions. 

She claimed to have received complaints from the employees and based her actions off of those. She said, “They are working under constant fear. I have warned the manager that I shouldn’t be seeing more than 30 per cent employees or that he will be beaten up by our social workers.”

However, the district collector of Pune, Kishore Ram Naval has warned her against unofficial instructions. 

He clarified, “A second warning will be issued to her as a non-administrative person does not have a right to barge into a company and compel anyone to shut down. If this happens, an FIR will be lodged.”

Pune Infosys Employee Tests Positive

Infosys has informed that an employee from Pune has tested positive.

Infosys said, “We are writing to let you know that a positive case of COVID-19 was detected among one of our employees in Pune, today. While we are providing all support to the concerned employee, we are also working with the health authorities on contact tracing as well as subsequent actions needed.”
