#Coronavirus: Tata Motors Assures 100% Salary, Paid Leaves; Air India Cuts 10% Employee Allowance

Amidst the Janta Curfew which has been imposed all across the nation, India’s leading business conglomerate Tata Sons has announced special offers for all temporary and daily wage earners.

Tata Motors Will Pay 100% Salary

As per reports coming in, Tata Motors will pay 100% salary to all daily wage earners, and temporary employees, even if they are not able to make it to their factories.

This means all daily wage earners and temporary workers will receive 100% paid leaves during the coronavirus outbreak.

This will be applicable for the months of March and April, and it will cover all reasons due to which they are unable to work: quarantine measures, site closures, plant shutdowns and more.

Tata Sons have admitted that the coronavirus will have some deep impact on the overall social and economic conditions of the nation. 

He said, “The current situation is likely to have a large and deep financial impact on the weaker socioeconomic segments of our society”.

Tata Sons have already asked their employees to work from home, wherever required.

Air India Will Deduct 10% Allowance

Meanwhile state-run airlines carrier Air India has decided to cut 10% allowance for all employees, as they are facing unprecedented dip in business.

However, Air India has ensured that the deduction will not impact Basic Pay, House Rent Allowance and Variable Dearness Allowance of the employees.

Air India said, “All airlines have taken drastic steps to survive the current crisis and an urgent need is felt to take steps to curtail costs to mitigate the current financial crisis,”.

This decision was taken during the Executive Management Committee meeting.

Travel industry, especially airlines are the worst hit during this coronavirus crisis. GoAir has already suspended all contracts with international pilots, and sent most of their employees on leave without pay, while as per a report, most of the airlines can bankrupt by May, if appropriate measures are not taken.
