In fact, new users opting for copper cable based landline connection wont be charged installation fees as well, thereby giving a big boost to the idea of work from home.

Confirming this, BSNL Director (CFA) Vivek Banzal said, “Broadband service is being offered free of charge for one month to all citizens across the country, who have BSNL landline and do not have any broadband, so that they can use this service either to work from home, educate from home or anything that can minimise the need to move outdoor,”

However, customers opting for optical fiber will be required to pay for the installation charges. After a month of free usage, customers will moved to paid plans.
