Karnataka reported its 1st ever positive case of coronavirus when a techie from Bengaluru was tested positive.

Meanwhile, 2 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported from Pune.

Overall, 42 people in India have been tested positive for coronavirus as of now.

Bengaluru Techie Becomes 1st Case Of Coronavirus In Karnataka

A Bengaluru software engineer, who had just returned from US has become the 1st case of coronavirus in Karnataka.

He is being treated at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD), and his condition is reported to be stable, as per Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar.

The 40-year old’s wife and daughter too have been placed in isolation ward, and being monitored.

This software engineer returned from Austin, US via New York and Dubai. Although initially he didn’t show any symptoms, but after two days he showed some symptoms, and he got admitted in a private hospital.

His samples tested positive at National Institute of Virology, Pune.

As per Govt officials, he came in contact with 2666 individuals, either directly or indirectly, and efforts are being made to trace each and everyone of them.

2 People Tests Positive In Pune

Meanwhile two people in Pune, who had a travel history from Dubai, have tested positive for coronavirus. As per Dr Ramchandra Hankare, Chief Health Officer, Pune Municipal Corporation, these two patients have been admitted at Govt run Naidu Hospital, and being monitored.

With this, total confirmed cases of coronavirus has now reached 45 in India.

A new case of coronavirus has also come in from Ernakulam, where a 3-year old kid has been tested positive.

A 63-year old from Jammu too has been tested positive.

Confirmed cases of coronavirus has come in from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, J&K, Punjab and Ladakh.

As per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), more than 5000 samples are being currently tested.

Globally, more than 1.06 lakh people from 100 countries have tested positive for coronavirus. 3600 have lost their lives.
