After Cognizant’s Hyderabad office reported a positive case of coronavirus, there was all round panic and chaos.

Cognizant had to shut down their entire office, and all employees were asked to work from home.

Now, after a week or so, Cognizant management has successfully defeated the scare caused by coronavirus.

Their Hyderabad campus has resumed operations, and employes are back. This is a good, positive signal for the entire IT industry, where most of the offices are closed, and employees are working from home mainly.

Cognizant’s Hyderabad Office Is Now Open

As per reports coming in, Cognizant’s entire Hyderabad office has been sanitized, and disinfected.

Office is now open, and employees have resumed work.

Confirming this, Jayesh Ranjan Principal Secretary IT and Industries said: “From 11 am onwards Cognizant has started functioning. They have done their own cleaning as prescribed by their corporate HQ.”

Only One Cognizant Office Was Closed Down

Contrary to media reports, only one particular building of Cognizant was closed down, since an employee was found to be infected with coronavirus.

Rest all the buildings of Cognizant in Hyderabad has been fully functioning.

A spokesperson from Cognizant said, “”Cognizant’s office in Building 20 of Raheja Mindspace in Hyderabad is operational today. The office was vacated on March 4 in the interest of the employees as an employee of another company with its office in Building 20 reported to have contracted coronavirus. All other offices of Cognizant in Hyderabad have continued to function as usual.”

However, as per The Hindu, there are still other companies in Raheja Mindsapce, whose employees have been asked to work from home, due to the coronavirus scare.

Another employee from the same IT park was also reported sick, and his samples were sent to the National Virology Institute in Pune for testing. The reports have come negative, and this has relieved hundreds of IT employees in Hyderabad.

It is expected that things will normalize, very soon.
