With the Coronavirus spreading in the country at a rapid rate, the Government of Karnataka has asked companies to allow their employees to work from home if they show any symptoms of the flu.

There are a lot of preventive measures put into effect to limit the spreading of the dangerous virus. Employees of TCS, HCL, etc. have already been asked to work remotely, preferably from their homes in order to be safe from the virus. 

There is also news about Paytm offices being closed due to one of the employees being tested positive for it.

Government of Karnataka To Ask Companies To Let Employees Work From Home

The Government of Karnataka has advised companies to ask their employees to work from home if they show any symptoms of the flu. An advisory issued by the Health Department stated, “Those employees having flu like symptoms may be allowed to work from home with advice of standard hand hygiene and cough etiquette.”

The advisory also recommends people to avoid travelling to the countries affected by this virus and also to avoid travelling to China, Iran, Republic of Korea, Italy and Japan.

Additionally, employees that are returning from countries such as China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, Italy, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, the UAE and Qatar will have to be screened medically upon their arrival at the airport.

Employees To Submit All Personal Details and Travel History To Officials Upon Arrival

The advisory has also made it compulsory for employees that arrive in India through any international flights from any port to submit a duly filled self-declaration form, that includes personal details, such as phone numbers, addresses in India. They are also asked to submit their travel history to health officials and immigration officials.

People all across the country have been asked to practise sanitation and safe practises for the virus to not spread any more than it already has. Workplaces have been asked to provide employees with hand sanitizers (alcohol-based) in prominent places and to give them access to places where the employees can wash their hands with soap.

All companies have been asked to advise good healthcare to their employees, such as surgical masks and paper tissues.
