Coronavirus is probably the most dangerous disease on the face of the earth. Ever since it has been discovered, it has claimed hundreds and thousands of lives, and India is not an exception to this. As of now, as much as 29 people have been identified to have contracted this disease.

The newest case of this deadly disease is a Paytm employee, causing Paytm to shut down its offices in Gurgaon and Noida.

Paytm Employee Tests Positive For Coronavirus; Paytm’s Offices Shut Down

Coronavirus has created quite a scare across the globe, and cases of Coronavirus have been identified in India as well. After 15 Italian tourists were found to be infected, the newest case of the Coronavirus is an employee of Paytm, one of India’s leading e-commerce and payment app. Paytm has revealed that the patient has recently returned from Italy, which is hugely hit by the virus.

As a measure to stop the disease from spreading more, Paytm has shut down all its offices in Noida, UP and Gurugram. Also, the other employees have been asked to work from home till the time the offices are being sanitized and fumigated. 

A Paytm spokesperson revealed, “One of our colleagues based out of Gurgaon office who recently returned from Italy post a vacation has sadly been tested positive for Coronavirus. He is receiving appropriate treatment and we are extending complete support to his family.”

“As a precautionary measure, we have suggested his team members to get health tests done immediately. We have also advised all our colleagues to work from home for a couple of days while we get our offices sanitized. However, there will not be any impact on our daily operations and Paytm services will continue as usual.”

As of now, the death toll of the Coronavirus has gone up to 3100 people. 

29 People Infected In India; 16 Of Them Italian Tourists

Coronavirus, also known as Covid-19, has now infected 29 people in India till date. It has lead to smartphone launch events being cancelled, investors have lost huge sums of money in the stock market and whatnot. 

Preventive measures are being taken throughout the country, such as employees of TCS, HCL and others are being asked to work from home. People have also been advised to avoid huge gatherings, and there is a huge increase in the screenings at airports and border crossings.
