India’s #1 DTH company: Tata Sky has dropped a big bombshell for their 1.8 crore users in India.

Effective February 11th, they have hiked the minimum recharge value by massive 150%.

This will severely impact the users, who wished to recharge their accounts for a day or two, or just to maintain the services.

How much will you need to pay now for Tata Sky’s minimum recharge?

Minimum Recharge For Tata Sky Increases By 150%

Till February 10th, the minimum recharge value for Tata Sky users was Rs 20.

However, after February 11th, the minimum recharge value has been increased to Rs 50, which is an increase of 150%, in a single go.

If any user attempts to recharge any value which is less than Rs 50, then they will be alerted via pop-up message, and will be asked to recharge with minimum Rs 50.

A Tata Sky spokesperson confirmed this news.

In a statement, Tata Sky said, “We are revising the minimum recharge amount on our platform from the current Rs. 20 to Rs. 50. Starting 11th Feb 2020 recharges below Rs. 50 wouldn’t be allowed/successful both on Tata Sky platforms as well as via 3rd party apps. In case any subscriber enters an amount less than Rs. 50 and tries to recharge, an appropriate message would be displayed to him on his screen. Recharge wouldn’t proceed in such cases.”

How Will This Impact The Users?

Users who wished to make the services active for just a day or two will find it very difficult to cope with the 150% increase in minimum recharge.

However, users of long-term packs will find no issues with this increase.

Interestingly, the minimum recharge amount for both Airtel Digital and d2H are Rs 50.

This way, Tata Sky has now made its minimum recharge value equivalent to Airtel Digital and d2H plans.
