Tata Motors Will Launch Showrooms For Selling Electric Cars; Success Of Nexon EV Is The Reason?

India’s largest automobile company: Tata Motors is now all set to launch exclusive outlets for selling electric cars.

What is the reason behind this move?

Is there something related with the success of Tata Nexon here?

Tata Motors Will Launch Outlets For EVs

Strong signals are coming in, which suggests that Tata Motors will launch exclusive outlets for showcasing and selling electric vehicles in India.

This way, Tata will be among the first major automobile companies to have dedicated outlets and showrooms for selling electric vehicles.

This has been confirmed by Tata Motors electric vehicles business head Shailesh Chandra, who said, “It should be possible. it makes sense. We will try to see when we have at least a minimum range of vehicles (EVs), we will start some exclusive experience. We have some thought on it,”

As per Shailesh, these new outlets for EVs should be launched within a year.

He said, “At the right time, we will comment when we are going to come up. A decision has to be taken.”

What Is The Reason Behind This Decision?

We are speculating that the success of Tata Nexon EV, has most probably encouraged Tata Motors to come up with this idea of exclusive outlets for selling EVs.

Tata Nexon EV was launched last month, at a stunning price of under Rs 14 lakh, and the market has responded well to it.

Right now, Tata Nexon EV is being sold via 60 Tata Motors showrooms, across 22 cities.

Infact, four new electric vehicle models will be soon launched by Tata Motors in the next two years, and a dedicated showroom in every city for electric vehicles makes perfect sense.

Right now, Tata Motors is collaborating and discussing with Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Autocomp, Tata Motors Finance and Croma to create an ecosystem of electric mobility, and to expand their EV portfolio.

Shailesh said, “In the Indian market, we can be more successful because of the conglomerate’s power,”

It is very clear that Tata Motors is quite bullish on the concept of electric mobility, and they will attempt to dominate it.
