Take Pledge To Travel 15 Tourist Locations & Get Your Travel Sponsored By Govt of India!
Singapore is 4500 times smaller than India, and roughly half of Delhi, but it receives more than 1.8 crore tourists in a year, compared to just 1 crore in India.
What is the reason for such huge gap?
It seems that Indian Govt. has finally woken-up to the reality that India is not able to market their fascinating tourist destinations.
In order to change this, Indian Govt. has now announced a very interesting initiative.
They will now reward travellers who have visited 15 domestic tourist spots in a year, by sponsoring their entire trip.
The Union Minister has confirmed this news at the National Tourism Conference. The conference was arranged by the Government of Odisha in association with FICCI at Konark.
Get Your Travel Sponsored By Govt!
At the concluding ceremony of the National Tourism Conference that lasted for two days, the Government of India announced that there will be a reward for travel enthusiasts who visit 15 domestic spots in a year.
The reward is that the Government will be funding their travel expenses, which is to be looked at as an incentive, and not as a monetary benefit.
Patel said, “Tourism Ministry will fund the travel expenses of tourists who visit 15 destinations in the country in a year and submit the photos to our website. This should not be construed as a monetary benefit but as an incentive. We should honour these persons as brand ambassadors of Indian Tourism.”
Who Will Be Eligible For This Reward?
However, there is one condition for people to compete and get this reward – you must travel to places that are outside your state.
The Union Tourism Minister also revealed that the Sun Temple would be included in the list of iconic sites that should be visited.
This incentive for tourists visiting 15 locations is part of a new programme to boost tourism in India, which is called Dekho Apna Desh. You can find more information right here.
