Xiaomi separated Redmi back in early 2018 to let it be an independent brand.

This could be an interesting take on how BBK Electronics control different independent brands under a single umbrella: Vivo, Oppo, Realme and OnePlus.

While Xiaomi lately has been facing some tough competition in different price categories, separating Redmi to fight against Realme wasn’t a bad decision. It tried to compete against OnePlus with Poco as well, and now it will probably focus on it more.

With no phones launched by Poco brand since August 2017, this move aims at a more strategic approach.

Xiaomi have officially announced that Poco will now act as an independent brand and will no longer operate under Xiaomi. Poco F1 still continues to sell in the market, and the company has confirmed that more Poco branded phones will launch in 2020.

Upcoming Poco Phones, Upcoming Poco Smartphones

The latest exclusion hints at a number of smartphone launches by Poco. Soon after being separated from Xiaomi, Redmi continued to launch multiple smartphones starting early 2018. The same is now expected with Poco.

While the company has officially confirmed that a new Poco phone will launch in 2020, more’s expected now as an independent brand.

Expected Upcoming Poco Smartphones:

  • Poco F2
  • Poco F2 Pro
  • Poco F2 Lite
  • Poco X Series

The possibility of Poco F2 is the highest among all, given how the next Poco smartphone will succeed the very successful Poco F1. Multiple Variants are expected under the Poco F2 series as the upcoming OnePlus 8 series.

The next OnePlus series is said to come with three different smartphones under the same series: OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite.

The Poco brand is expected to go against OnePlus, as it did back in 2017. So, the Poco F2 series is tipped to feature three smartphones for different price categories: Poco F2, Poco F2 Pro and Poco F2 Lite.
