Students, Entrepreneurs Are Delivering Your Swiggy Orders; 27% Of Part-Time Delivery Partners Wish To Buy A Home/Car

As per the reports on Thursday, At least 37% of Swiggy’s part-time delivery partners are students working to fund their education.

How Did This Happen?

India’s largest online food ordering and delivery platform, Swiggy recently conducted a poll to discover the various aspirations and motivations of about 16,000 part-time delivery partners who login into the app for about 4-8 hours every day.

They find out that around 29% delivery partners have another full-time job and moonlight as delivery partners to meet their own and their families’ financial goals and 20% have another part-time job on the side.

What Are The Other Major Findings?

Also, around 10 per cent are entrepreneurs and run their own business while working with Swiggy to relieve stress of erratic earnings from their business

While 29% are primary earning members of their household, according to the survey.

If we talk about their aspirations, 33% delivery partners aim to grow into the role of fleet managers with Swiggy itself, like some of their counterparts have.

Around 28% are saving money with the goal of buying a house or car of their own as revealed by the survey.

Continuing with the aspirations, the report says that, 20% delivery partners aim to land a full-time, regular job eventually and 8% are fuelled by wanderlust and want to travel across India.

The report also highlighted about another 8% that includes the young and responsible ones who are selflessly saving money to fund their siblings’ wedding.

There has also been a revelation about a small but significant minority of 12% opened bank accounts for the first time post joining Swiggy, highlighting financial independence for these partners.

How Did Swiggy Restructured Its Price For Renewal?

Recently the Swiggy was in news for double price hikes for its renewal plans.

According to this report, Swiggy has revised the pricing structure of its subscription-based programme called Swiggy Super. 

With this move, the food delivery firm has hiked the monthly plan of the Swiggy Super programme from the existing Rs. 79 to Rs. 149. 

Also, the three months plan that was available at Rs. 179 up until now will be charged at Rs. 349. 

Further,  the change will be effective for all existing Swiggy Super members starting from 8 January.
