These Are The Revised Rates For Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner At Railway Stations Across India (Complete List)

The Ministry of the Indian Railways has announced that the rates of the standard meals and items for static units on the Indian Railways have now been updated. 

The Ministry of Railways has announced that there will be significant changes in the rates of the food items in Express trains, Mails and even Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains

Railway Ministry Declares Changes In The Prices Of Meals and Food At Railway Station

The IRCTC has declared in an exchange filing, “Ministry of Railways has revised the tariff of Standard Meals on Static Units over Indian Railways.”

The circular also reveals that all the other instructions about the menu of standard items, menu and tariff of Janta meals and implementation on other mail/express trains will be applied to static units too. 

As per reports, IRCTC and the Zonal Railways will be making sure that this increase in rates also improves the quality and hygiene of foods. In order to ensure such enhanced qualities, there will be intensive inspections. 

The revised rates will not get any undeserved profits to the service providers. 

Revised Rates Of Meal and Breakfast

The revised service wise tariff for Express/Mail trains includes a vegetarian Breakfast at Rs. 35 and a nonvegetarian breakfast for Rs. 45. A standard vegetarian meal comes at Rs. 70, and the same meal with egg curry and chicken curry comes for Rs. 75 and Rs. 120 respectively. 

A vegetarian biryani, which will be around 350 gm has been priced at Rs. 70. The same quantity of egg biryani will come at Rs. 80, and chicken biryani comes at Rs. 100. 

There is also a snack meal, which will come at quite a small amount, Rs. 50 for 350 gm. 

All the rates specified by the IRCTC are inclusive of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Revised Rates Of Meal and Breakfast For Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains

The breakfast in these trains will be priced at Rs. 140 and Rs. 105 in AC first and AC second, AC third of Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains, respectively.

The lunch and dinner will be priced at Rs. 245 in AC first and Rs. 185 in AC second and AC third of the Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains.

There is also an evening tea, which has been priced as high as Rs. 140 in AC first and Rs. 90 in AC second and third of Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains.

Additionally, if you are a passenger of  the sleeper class in Duronto trains, you will have to pay Rs. 65 for breakfast, lunch and dinners are priced at Rs. 120 and Rs. 50 for evening tea.
