Jio’s Wifi Calling: Vo WiFi Goes Live In These 3 Circles; It Will Support All Eligible Smartphones, And All ISPs!

The battle of Vo- WiFi or Voice over Wifi has intensified now. After Airtel launched Vo WiFi service in Delhi, it is the turn of Reliance Jio to make it available for their users.

Jio Vo WiFi Is Live Across These Three Circles

As per an exclusive report by TelecomInfo, it has come to light that Jio’s Vo WiFi or Voice over Wifi is now live across three circles: Kerala, Maharashtra and Kolkata.

Although Jio hasn’t yet confirmed this launch, but several users from these three circles have reported that they are now able to access Jio’s Vo WiFi service on their smartphones.

While Airtel’s Vo WiFi was initially launched only in Delhi-NCR, they have now rolled out this service across Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Mumbai and Kolkata circles.

Hence, Kolkata is the only circle where both Airtel’s and Jio’s Vo WiFi service is available.

Note here, that Jio hasn’t yet confirmed this launch, and it may be just for testing purpose as of now.

Which Smartphones Will Support Jio’s Vo WiFi Service?

As per the report, Jio’s Vo WiFi service is available for every smartphone, which supports Vo WiFi service.

Initially, Airtel supported their Vo WiFi service only in few selected smartphones, but now, their service is also available for all smartphones, which has Vo WiFi service enabled.

You can check and activate your Vo WiFi service on your smartphone by these following steps:

•  Go to SIM card settings
• Next, enable the VoLTE switch
• Now, enable the Wi-Fi Calling switch. 
• Lastly, restart your device once and wait for the VoWi-Fi symbol to appear in the status bar.

If you are able to see the Vo WiFi symbol, then you can make the calls, without using 2G/3G/4G networks, and use directly WiFi enabled network.

We dont have the exact list of which smartphones will support Jio Vo Wifi, but users of these smartphones will be most probably, be able to use this service:

• iPhones running iOS 13.3 version and higher
• Galaxy M30s, Galaxy M30, Galaxy M20
•  OnePlus 7T, 7T Pro, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi K20

Which ISPs Will Jio Vo Wifi Support?

Another interesting aspect: Jio’s Vo WiFi will work on any WIFi network, from any ISP. Hence, if you are using say Vodafone’s WiFi or AIrtel’s Wifi, then also you can make voice calls using Vo WiFi service.

On the other hand, when Airtel’s Vo Wifi service was launched, it was initially applicable to only Airtel Broadband’s WiFi network, but now, they too have opened this service for all ISP users.
