A Chinese e-commerce company, Club Factory, has been reportedly been selling fake products and an FIR has been lodged against the company’s top level officials. 

Club Factory has previously also made headlines previously about selling fake products on their platform, including those of some top brands like Titan and Rayban as well.

FIR Lodged Against Club Factory For Heavy Discounts, Fake Products

Chinese companies such as Club Factory have a huge market in India. Club Factory itself has announced that India made up for about 57% of the total user base which is over 70 million.

A customer from Lucknow, Alok Kakkad, has registered an FIR at the Wazirganj police station against Club Factory and its top executives – Directors Jialun Li and Gatvit Aggarwal, CFO Ashwini Rastogi and grievance the officer for planning a ‘criminal conspiracy’. And by this, the complainant has protested against that the heavy discounts that are being displayed by Club Factory on their products. Also, the company has been accused of shipping fake products to its customers.

As per the complainant, Club Factory attracted customers and earned huge profits by selling fake products of popular brands at cheaper prices, and this he spoke from his first-hand experience. 

Fake Products Sold; Customer Care Executives Hurled Abuses

Kakkad said that he bought a Titan watch and Ray-Ban sunglasses from Club Factory which was available at the site at up to 90% discount. However, when he received his order, he was reasonably shocked as the both the products turned out to be fake. 

He then got in touch with the customer care of Titan and Ray-Ban, who both denied having any collaboration with Club Factory.

Here’s the most shocking part – when he contacted Club Factory’s customer care on its toll free number, the customer care executive allegedly abused him and also threatened him with dire consequences. 

The police have registered a case against the company under Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code against the company. The directors of Club Factory and the grievance officer have also been booked under Sections 420, 406, 506 and 120-B for cheating, criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation.

The Indian industry has long been trying to get the Government to open its eyes to the Chinese companies’ misconduct for a long time, and this included Club Factory. Chinese e-commerce companies have been accused of selling fake products to gain higher profits.
