This will help you call other people even if the network is faulty, which is not very rare for us Indians!

Not only Airtel, but Jio has also been working on this service in Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala, and is also planning to launch their own service soon. Even BSNL has carried out trials in numerous circles.

Airtel Introduces Voice Calling Over Wi-Fi: All You Need To Know

This feature of Wi-Fi calling will be available for 24 smartphones of four brands – Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and OnePlus.

The call connection time and the quality will be much better than standard and even VoLTE calling technologies. Also, you will not need any separate app or log in to anything to enjoy this benefit.

If you want to avail this feature, you will require a handset that supports the feature and an Airtel 4G sim card in Delhi. Once you have both, here’s a step by step procedure on how to enable this feature on your phone:

  1. Go to SIM card settings
  2. Next, enable the VoLTE switch
  3. Now, enable the Wi-Fi Calling switch.
  4. Lastly, restart your device once and wait for the VoWi-Fi symbol to appear in the status bar.

As of now, this service has been made available in Delhi NCR, and is expected to be launched in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad as well.
