After a lukewarm November, December have some hot launches lined up. Major smartphone companies in the country will unveil some important devices including Redmi K30, Realme X2, Mi Note 10, Samsung Galaxy M50 and more.

Xiaomi will lead the brigade with a few major launches including the first-ever 108MP camera smartphones in India.

Realme will be bringing its upgraded Realme XT mid-ranger, the Realme X2 alongside Realme X50, the first Realme 5G smartphone. The device has just been announced, and it may either arrive in late 2019 or early 2020.

The list includes smartphones which have already been confirmed to be launching in December 2019, or are expected to arrive in late 2019 or early 2020.

Redmi K30

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the Redmi K30 will launch in December in China. Xiaomi India haven’t yet revealed anything regarding Redmi K30 India launch as of now. Though, Redmi K30 India launch is expected in early 2020. Redmi K30 design has been recently leaked online, and the prototype matches the current OnePlus 7T circular camera design. Redmi K30 will come with a punch-hole display design and 64MP powered quad camera system with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The India-bound Redmi K30 unit will run on Snapdragon 730G offering 4G and not 5G. Redmi K30 will come with a top-notch industry-first 120Hz display. Redmi K30 in China is expected to debut with the Snapdragon 735, the first Qualcomm mid-range chip supporting 5G connectivity, set to launch on December 10.

Mi Note 10

So finally Xiaomi India has officially confirmed that the just-launched Mi Note 10 series is coming to India. India will soon be getting its first ever 108MP camera smartphone. The company CEO Manu Kumar Jain has tweeted confirming the launch in India. Mi Note 10 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage starts at EUR 549 (around Rs 43,200). Mi Note 10 and the Mi Note 10 Pro come with a similar display sized at 6.47-inch. It’s a Full HD+ AMOLED display offering a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.

The devices have sandwich glass display body protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Mi Note 10 comes with 6GB of RAM, while the Mi Note 10 Pro packs 8GB of RAM along with 128GB storage and 256GB storage respectively. Both the Mi Note 10 smartphones Pro run on MIUI 11.

Samsung Galaxy M50 / Galaxy M40S

Samsung is bringing its exclusive online M-series to offline stores with an all new smartphone in India. The company has been able to hit the popularity meter again with its youth oriented Galaxy M series. The upcoming Galaxy M device will succeed Samsung Galaxy M40, expected to be Galaxy M50 or Galaxy M40s. The company recently unveiled a toned-up variant of its hit Galaxy M30 as well, Galaxy M30s. It’s yet to be confirmed what’s the name going to be, either Samsung Galaxy M40S or Galaxy M50.

The leak reveals a note sent to multiple retailers by the company, and a new Galaxy M device in the making, expected to launch in December. Also, the next Galaxy M-series smartphone, Samsung Galaxy M50 or Galaxy M40S will be available via retail stores as well.

Mi Note 10 Pro

Both Mi Note 10 smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor. Mi Note 10 series will become the first 108MP camera smartphones to launch in the country. Both the Mi Note 10 models are expected to launch in India, while the prices are expected under 30,000 in the entry premium flagship category. Mi Note 10 Pro with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage starts at EUR 649 (around Rs 51,000). Both Mi Note 10 devices comes with a five camera setup at the back.

Mi Note 10 devices have a 108MP primary image sensor, 20-megapixel secondary wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel telephoto camera with 5X optical zoom, a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x zoom, and 2-megapixel macro camera. Up front, they feature a 32-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Realme X2 

Realme X2 was scheduled to launch in India in November, but the launch has been delayed. Realme X2 could arrive in India in December 2019, a slightly upgraded Realme XT. The new Realme X2 will come with Snapdragon 730G with the same features as the current XT model. Realme X2 will feature an AMOLED screen, quad camera system, 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor, in-display fingerprint sensor and the big battery will be there as it is. Snapdragon 730G couples with an improved Adreno 618 GPU to offer an enhanced flagship-level gaming experience.

The rear cameras on Realme X2 will remain the same as the standard Realme XT. But this time Realme XT 730G edition will support faster fast charging at 30W. Realme XT 730G will come with 30W VOOC FlashCharge support and an improved 32MP camera upfront inside the notch running on ColorOS 7. 

Poco F2

Spigen’s listing confirms that Poco F2 exists, and it’s in the making. The fresh leaks also reveal some of the important specs which include a notch-less display, triple camera system, glass body and other top-end features. Poco F2 will come with a notch-less AMOLED display with a similar design as Redmi K20 Pro featuring a glass body with a pop-up sensor on top. It’s a Full HD+ Super AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides without any notch.

Poco F2 will run on Snapdragon 855, though it’s yet to be confirmed. Poco F2 will sport a sizeable 4,000mAh sized battery with support for 27W fast charging only. Coming to the leaked specs and it’s similarity to Redmi K20 Pro, chances are that it may come as a remodelled K20 Pro for some markets.

Realme X50: Realme 5G Phone

The company has finally confirmed its first-ever 5G smartphone, the Realme X50. The company CEO has previously confirmed that the Realme 5G phone i.e Realme X50 will also launch in India once the 5G infrastructure is ready in the country. The company has officially announced the 5G Realme smartphone, and it’s going to be called Realme X50. The Realme 5G phone aka Realme X50 will support dual-mode NSA and SA 5G network, confirmed by Realme CMO Xu Qi Chase in a Weibo post.

As any other 5G device in the market available right now, the Realme X50 will support dual-mode 5G connectivity. Qualcomm is said to be working on a special affordable 5G 700-series chip, Snapdragon 735. Realme X50 could either be powered by Snapdragon 865 or the first non-flagship Qualcomm 735 chip with 5G support.

OPPO Reno 3 5G

The first smartphone to run on ColorOS 7 is going to be the OPPO Reno 3. Set to launch in December, the 4G model of the device may come to India in late December or next month. The device will run the first-ever full version of ColorOS 7 out of the box. Some reports say that Reno 3 may become the world’s first smartphone to run on Snapdragon 735 SoC, the first-ever mid-range 5G chip by Qualcomm.

OPPO Reno 3 will come with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint sensor, a sizeable 4,500mAh battery, 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging support and most importantly, the awaited 60MP quad-camera setup.

Honor 9X

Honor 9X and 9X Pro had already launched in China a few months back, and the devices may land in the country soon as per the rumours. It’s been in the pipeline for long and probably by the end of December Honor 9X India launch may happen. The 9X devices are in line with the Honor 20 series featuring the glass back in gradient colours with X-shaped patterns. Honor 9X and 9X Pro feature all-screen no-notch displays with an 6.59-inch OLED display on top.

Both the Honor 9X smartphones are powered by the new flagship Kirin 810 chipset, based on an 7nm process. Honor 9X offers a dual camera setup featuring a 48MP primary camera coupled with a 2MP depth sensor, while 9X features an additional third 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor.

Vivo X30

Finally, ending our list with another international release, Vivo X30. The device will arrive in December in China, and expected to hit the Indian market soon. Vivo X30 is going to be a mid-range smartphone, to be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 980 flagship 5G chipset. In India, the device will come with 4G capabilities, but in China it will support 5G connectivity in dual SA and NSA network operation modes.

Vivo X30 will feature a 6.5-inch display, 8GB RAM, 128GB base storage, 64MP+8MP+13MP+2MP quad-camera setup and 30W fast charging. The device will also have a Pro model with some enhanced specs with 40W fast charging.
