TikTok Hits 1.5 Billion Downloads With Indians At The Top Of The List Of Downloaders

Despite the number of controversies that TikTok has been a part of, the popular short-video sharing platform has managed to hit a whopping 1.5 billion downloads, both on Play Store and Apple App Store as well. It is now the third most downloaded non-gaming app, just after Whatsapp and Facebook.

Of all the global downloads, India is accountable for 45% of the downloads, with 277.6 million downloads this year.

Whatsapp stands at the first position, with the app being downloaded for about 707.4 times. This huge number despite the downloads of Whatsapp being affected by the dangerous Pegasus malware, which reduced the downloads of Whatsapp by 80%.

At second place is Facebook’s chatting app, the Facebook Messenger, with 636.2 million downloads.
