If rumours are to be believed, a new foldable phone by Xiaomi is on the cards, and soon! Xiaomi is apparently following on the footsteps of the recently launched Moto Razr

To cement this news is the patent applications filed by Xiaomi that reveal a foldable phone.

First Samsung, then Motorola, and now its Xiaomi who will be launching their foldable smartphones in the rapidly developing smartphone market.

Rumours About Xiaomi’s Foldable Smartphones Confirmed As Xiaomi’s Files Patents

As per reports, some images have been spotted thanks to CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration) and they cemented the fact that Xiaomi has been building and developing a foldable smartphone. Apparently, these patents have been filed way back in August 2018, but have been very recently revealed. 

There have been a lot of speculations made about Xiaomi’s foldable smartphone, there have been videos that leaked information about foldable smartphones. One of the videos also showed how the smartphone could be folded in two different ways, whereas the other video was posted by company VP Wang Zhang himself.

There were also rumours that said that the upcoming Mi Mix 4, with a 60 MP camera, would be a foldable smartphone as well. 

Here’s How The Xiaomi’s Foldable Smartphone Will Be Like

As per the patents that have surfaced, the foldable smartphone by Xiaomi will come with a clamshell design that is similar to that of Moto Razr. 

The patents also reveal that the overall form factor of the phone has a similar appearance, but the design is a bit different. When the phone is opened, there is a tall display inside and a bezel on the top side. There is also an earpiece up on the bezel and a front-facing selfie camera. Also, there is no chin at the bottom of the phone, and that is what distinguishes Xiaomi’s design from Moto Razr. When the phone is shut, there is a square device and a rectangular display. There is also the dual camera on the outer end of the phone.
