Why To Launch A New Model?
No wonder as South Korea’s second-largest automobile manufacturer, Kia Motors is planning to launch a new model in the Indian market.
This model has been code-named as QYi and expected to compete with existing popular names like Maruti Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Venue.
The company’s existing product, Kia Seltos is doing very well according to its popularity in the SVU segment.
As per the reports, the South Korean carmaker sold 2,148 units of the Seltos model on the auspicious occasion of the first day of Diwali known as Dhanteras.
This definitely shows a huge acceptance of this model in such a short time span.
Citing the high demands for entry-level cars, the carmaker also plans to launch an all-new model in the Indian market in the future.
What To Expect From This New Model?
With the launch of this model, they are expecting to compete with Hyundai Venue and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.
The company’s vision is to get accessibility from masses can be achieved with the launch of this new compact SUV model, citing the huge popularity of its existing model Seltos.
The aesthetics for this new model is yet not revealed but it is assumed that its basic silhouette and overall proportion will be similar to the Hyundai Venue.
While styling uses is totally a different story as it is expected to be totally different from the Hyundai model to give is a different identity.
But yes it will have the signature Tiger Nose grille in the front end to show its connection with Seltos model.
What About Engine?
If we talk about the engine, the new model will likely have the 120 PS 1.0L T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine from the Venue.
Also accompanied with a 115 PS 1.5L MPI naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 115 PS 1.5L CRDi turbocharged diesel engine as well.
The motor is expected to offer a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. But it is also assumed that the turbo-petrol unit could also get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission option.
What Does The Company Says?
The South Korean Automobile Giant, Kia Motors has professed that they will launch a sub-4 meter SUV, codenamed the QYI, after the introduction of the Carnival MPV.
Also It will resemble Hyundai Venue. It is expected that the company will be launching this model in India before 2021.
Price ranges for this model is expected to fall in the range of Rs 6.8 lakh to Rs 11.4 lakh.
