Which DTH Operators Have Implemented This Price Cut?

Some time back broadcasters have announced these price cuts but DTH operators have implemented these changes quickly to give the benefits of these changes their subscribers.

Many DTH operators have implemented the reduced price model which includes names like, Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV, Sun Direct, D2h and Dish TV.

Although the cable TV subscribers are also waiting for these price reduction implementation as there was an announcement saying the Cable TV subscribers will also get these benefits in the near future.

So finally the good news came as DEN Networks and Hathaway has implemented these price cut recently.

How Did This Happen?

The representative of most of the Cable TV  in the country, the All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF) has recently announced that they would be passing on the reduced price benefits introduced by channel broadcasters to the subscribers very soon.

SN Sharma, The AIDCF president said that all the Cable TV Operators will implement the reduced prices of channels to the subscribers.

According to his statement, the major Cable TV Operators  DEN Networks and Hathaway have introduced the new pricing model for their subscribers.

That means that cable TV subscribers can enjoy the popular channels at reduced prices.

How Can You Get 50 More Channels On Base NCF?

For Cable TV subscribers, the DTH Operators are providing another benefit which was agreed by all the Cable TV operators in AIDCF.

They will also be providing 150 SD channels at the cost of 100 SD channels to their subscribers.

This means that the subscribers will get 150 SD channels at the cost of 100 SD channels.

Which means that for the Rs 130 base NCF, the subscribers will get access to 50 more channels.

With these new changes, the subscriber will have access to 50 more channels and also will be able to save Rs 40 in total.

How To Get Rs 7 Discount On Popular Channels?

Apart from the above benefits, the subscribers will also be able to save Rs 7 per channel for some of the popular channels.

These channel list includes Colors, Colors Kannada, Star Plus, SAB, Sony Entertainment Television (SET) and more.

The same discount is provided by Big broadcasters for SD channels like Star India, Sony Pictures Networks India, Viacom18 and ZEEL.

Why Would They Provide These Discounts?

The discounted prices are implemented as there is speculation regarding Trai’s concern on the rampant discounting of the channel bouquets.

If Trai would have implemented a capping of discount on the channel bouquets and channel packs then the individual channels and the a-la-carte channels would not be priced higher than 15% more than the price of the channel in the channel bouquet.

So, many popular channels which earlier charged Rs 19 are now available for at Rs 12 per month.
