UberWorks Will Now Connect Gig Workers With Employers

Uber has newly launched a new platform, UberWorks, that will connect employers to people with people to cover their shifts. The positions on the platform will be varied from prep cook, warehouse worker, a commercial cleaner or event staff.

Uber’s blog states, “We believe that finding work shouldn’t have to be a job in itself. For positions as diverse as being a prep cook, warehouse worker, a commercial cleaner or event staff, Uber Works aims to make it easier to find and claim a shift.”

The app users can get details about the shifts that they would like to work in, such as gross pay, work location and skills, or required attire. The app will also be a ‘one stop shop’ for time-tracking needs and will also allow users to log in and out at shifts and log their breaks too.

The app also display all the available shifts that are related to users at one place.

Uber Eats To Integrate With Main Uber App In India

Currently, Uber’s cab service app is different than its online food delivery app, but not for long. The platform is planning to make a single app for both the services, and it will only be for India.

A source closely associated with development revealed, “The intention behind this integration is to get riders to order food through Uber, which will bring in more revenue and the frequency per customer.”

The renewed app by Uber is currently under development, and will be launched early next year in India. Also, there will be a combined subscription service for customers.

Uber plans to launch the revamped app, which is currently in test phase, by early next year in India, and upsell a combined subscription service to customers.
