Rajasthan Has India’s Cleanest Railway Stations; Tamil Nadu Has Dirtiest (Full List)

The Indian Railways is always looking for ways to improve the state of the railway station and make it cleaner and better everyday. 

Under the “Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat” mission, the Indian Railways taking active steps towards clean stations, and the results are in – the list of top ten cleanest railway stations in India 2019.

Quality Council of India Report Of Clean Railway Stations

The Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat report was released on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2, 2019. 

There are about eight thousand stations, and they have been divided into 17 zones, and they are categorized into three categories: Non-Suburban (NS), Suburban (S) and Halt (H).

The report states, “QCI assessors observed the frequency of various cleaning activities in the main consumer interface areas. Process evaluation also involved the assessors observing the condition of the uniform, protective gear and equipment used by the cleaning staff.”

The station officials and Indian Railways passengers have together taken efforts to change the look of the stations across the nation. The report has also revealed that there is a change in the behaviour of passengers, who are also taking efforts to make sure the stations are clean.
