Soon enough, you’ll be able to make your messages on Whatsapp disappear! Yes, Whatsapp is now working on a feature, which is quite interesting and will now allow users to set a timer of sorts on messages.

WABetaInfo, which is a platform that reveals upcoming updates of the popular social networking app, has let us know about this feature.

We all know Whatsapp is owned by Facebook, and Facebook is not very popular for data privacy. Hence, this feature seems to be quite on the plus sides of the app.

What is this feature that disappears messages on Whatsapp? How does it work? Find out right here!

Whatsapp Working On Features That Makes Messages Disappear

Whatsapp is planning to introduce this feature that will enable users to make their messages disappear on the platform. This might prove to be a useful feature for many, as private and sensitive information is often exchanged on the popular messenger app by Facebook.

This feature is currently in the alpha stage of development, which means that Whatsapp is only beginning the development, and the app is at a very initial stage. WABetaInfo says, “ETA is available to know when the feature will be available for everyone. Be sure that WhatsApp is actively working on the feature, in order to make it perfectly work for you.”

This feature made its debut in the version 2.19.275 of the Android app.

All You Need To Know About Whatsapp’s Disappearing Message Feature

You will be enabled to set a timer for your message to disappear, and presently, there are only two options available – 5 seconds, and one hour.

This feature seems to be available only for group chats, as is obvious from the screenshots. However, WABetaInfo seems to think that it will be available for private chats soon enough.

This feature has not been launched yet, and there is no news when it will be launched as of yet.

Right now, when a chat is marked as ‘disappeared’, all messages on it will be removed after a particular interval. For a message to disappear, you will have to mark the chat as ‘disappearing messages.’

You can easily mark the chat as ‘disappeared’ by clicking on the option ‘ “Disappearing messages”, which is available in the Group Info tab. However, this will be available after the feature is introduced to everyone.
