NUnion Minister in the cabinet: Mr. Santosh Gangwar, has stirred a hornet’s nest by claiming that North Indians are not qualified enough for getting good jobs.
This is his logic and opinion on current job crisis in India.
Mr. Santosh Gangwar is MoS (Independent Charge), Ministry of Labour and Employment.
This statement was shared by Mr. Santosh during a press conference in Bareilly, when a press reporter asked him about unemployment in India.
In his defense, stated that ‘recruiters’ have complained to him that there are not good enough candidates from North India, and that they are unable to find ‘quality’.
His exact statement: “I want to say that there is no dearth of job opportunities in the country. Those who come for recruitment in north India often complain that they are unable to find the quality in candidates required for the post they are hiring for,”
He emphasised on the fact that there are no dearth of jobs in India and there are several job exchanges wherein the unemployed youth can get jobs.
But since they are not qualified for these jobs, there is an artificial job crisis created in India.
Govt Of India Says Unemployment Has Increased
As per official data on the jobs, Govt. has admitted that jobs are less, and unemployment rate is quite high.
As per a June report, unemployment in India has breached 40 year old record, as the unemployment rate hit 6.1% as per country’s first periodic labour force survey (PLFS) for July 2017-June 2018.
At the same time, Chief statistician of India Pravin Srivastava has dismissed the report as unscientific and unfair.
Eventually, Govt. held back this report called The Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) of the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO).
Job Crisis Is Real: Auto, Textile, Manufacturing Severely Impacted
We have already reported about the depressing state of jobs in the automobile sector in India right now.
More than 3.5 lakh direct jobs will be lose as Maruuti, Tata, Mahindra and others have stopped production. India’s Finance Minister blamed Ola, Uber and the millenials for this low car sales. Even car dealers are facing the heat, as more than 2 lakh employees have been fired by them.
Auto component makers have threatened that 10 lakh jobs are at risk.
On the other hand, The Northern India Textile Mills Association (NITMA) has warned that textile industry is in shambles right now. As much as 3 crore Indians face job loss due to the slowdown in textile industry.
Real estate, manufacturing and IT too are facing slowdown, and a big job crisis is looming ahead.
But, it seems that the North Indians are the culprit here, as they haven’t got the desired skills.
