Xiaomi Sold 55,000 Smartphones/Day In Last 5 Years; Becomes 1st Brand To Sell 10 Cr Smartphones!

Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi has emphatically declared that they have become the first ever smartphone brand to sell 10 crore or 100 million smartphones to Indians.

Xiaomi has achieved this feat in 5 years.

This means, that every day in the last 5 years, Xiaomi sold whooping 54,794 smartphones, which translates to 38 units per minute.

A video was also released, wherein we can see Xiaomi India employees celebrating this unique feat via dance and music.

As per Manu, there has no other brand, in any country which was able to sell 100 million smartphones in a year, anywhere in the world.

What Makes It A Huge Achievement?

As per data shared by Manu, there were brands before Xiaomi, and brands which came after Xiaomi, but none of them are even close to what Xiaomi was able to achieve.

Without naming any brand, he said that 2nd biggest smartphone company sold 43 million smartphones in the last 5 years, and the brand which is at #3 was able to sell only 30 million smartphones.

Xiaomi Is The Undisputed Champion?

As per IDC numbers, if we combine both offline and online sales in the last 5 years of all smartphone brands, then Xiaomi is at #1 position with 46.5% share in the online sales, and 28.3% share in the offline space.

This makes Xiaomi #1 smartphone brand in both online and offline space.

As of now, Xiaomi is an active participant of Make in India vision, as they are successfully producing smartphones via three plants in India.

These are contractual manufacturing, handled by Foxconn, HiPad and their new partner Flex, 

At their third plant, which became operational a few months ago, Xiaomi is manufacturing 3 smartphones per second.
